As You May Recall...

My cat, Bubbles, was being chased by Howler in the middle of the night a couple of months ago. And I called it, she got pregnant. Well, yesterday, she had her kittens. I woke up at about 8 a.m., rolled over, and saw she was lying in the crate bed I had set up for her (to have the kittens in). I thought, Good, she's using it, and just as quickly, I realized she was cleaning a freshly birthed kitten.
I ran through the house, "Kittens!! She's having her kittens!" I text my friends and called my sister. By noon, she had five little furballs. It was a beautifully disgusting occasion. I had to help birth the fourth, which became stuck in the birth canal and only its head protruded. But, that's not the gross part. She ate the placentas. It was *shivers* gross.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the beautiful new additions to our family.

Ugh.. I was blond... and Van looks thrilled! Also, this is Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunday.. she was so chunky!

BAM!

It is Decided

I will own a parrot. But not just any parrot. I will own a parrot that has been involved in a horrific accident where he lost his leg. He will have a peg leg in place of it. Why? Because apparently a glorified toothpick is a justifiable replacement for a leg and claw. Because it is totally rational to believe that a parrot could not stand on a perch with one leg, but can with one leg--and a stick for the other.

Also, I will teach it to say, "Arrrgggg!"

Well then... Polly wants a cracker.

Spread the Word

Maybe, you've heard and maybe you haven't, but the American Psychiatric Association is proposing some drastic changes to the criteria to receive an autism diagnosis. These changes will essentially eliminate PDD-NOS and Asperger's Disorder.
Well, I wrote an article about it. And you should read it. And pass it on to your friends. Knowledge is power. And knowing is half the battle ;)

Here's the link:

I've also written about treating some symptoms of autism, the basics are found here:

Sara, you should post these on your blog... because I said so.
